History

For over 30 years, Bob's Power Center has been providing the Northwoods with outstanding sales and service on all types of lawn, garden & outdoor power equipment. The business got its start back in 1982 in Appleton, WI where Bob lived at the time. Bob, who had been working for a landscaping business, found himself putting his small-engine knowledge and interests to use every time the landscaper's equipment would break down or need to be serviced. Eventually, Bob spent more time repairing the equipment than he did landscaping and he decided to strike out on his own and make small-engine and power equipment repair a full-time venture. Starting the business that would ultimately turn into the full-service facility that we now know as Bob's Power Center.

In 1993, Bob realized a dream to be closer to his Northwoods area family members when he moved to Rhinelander and set up shop in a rented building at 1409 E. Lincoln (just up the street from his present location). This first incarnation of Bob's Power Center established Bob's as the "go-to" shop for quality repair, knowledgeable sales, and top-line equipment brands - a reputation that Bob's continues to enjoy to this day.

As Bob's reputation and clientele grew, he realized that a change in location would ultimately allow him to better serve his customers by improving his showroom, repair facilities, and expanding his product lines. In March of 1999, Bob's Power Center moved into a brand-new building at 1208 E. Lincoln Street and the business has grown accordingly. Bob is convinced that his customers appreciate the fact that his business offers more in-stock equipment and a more professional feel than other small-engine repair businesses in the area.

Bob's Power Center continues to adapt and change to better serve their customers as they add new services and product lines. The staff at Bob's use what they sell.  Their personal knowledge will help steer customers in the right direction to get the products, equipment and service they need.  The person you have helping select the right outdoor power equipment has most likely used (and possibly worked on) that machine, not just read a flyer.  

Additionally, Bob's is committed to quality service and continues to stay abreast of changes in power equipment technologies by focusing on having one of the most comprehensively trained staffs in the Northwoods.  Briggs & Stratton Master Service Technician, Stihl Gold and Silver Certified Mechanics, Kohler and Kawasaki certified technicians, Ariens RapidCare Professional level and Toro Service Manager are just a few of the credentials the staff carries.  Bob's believes that factory-trained & certified technicians will keep their customer's equipment performing safely and dependably for many years. Their customers agree.

What started as a small yet dedicated business over a quarter of a century ago has evolved into one of the most complete and comprehensive small-engine and outdoor power equipment sales and service shops in the entire Northwoods. Offering a carefully chosen blend of top brand names, master-trained service technicians, large product showroom, tons of in-stock parts and accessories, and convenient services (like pickup and delivery on just about any product), it's easy to see why Bob's Power Center has become the premier small-engine shop.
